Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 November 2026
This policy explains what personal data gearpicked.com ("GearPicked", "we") processes and why. The controller is Balwant Rawat, India. Contact: [email protected].
Data we collect
- Server and security logs: our host (Cloudflare) processes technical data such as IP address, browser type and requested pages to deliver and secure the site.
- Email: if you email us, we keep your message and address to reply.
- Analytics: we may use privacy-friendly analytics (for example Cloudflare Web Analytics, which does not use cookies) to count visits. If we add a cookie-based analytics tool, we will update this policy and ask for consent where required.
Cookies
The site itself does not currently set cookies. Third parties may set cookies when you interact with them:
- Affiliate cookies: when you click an affiliate link (for example to Amazon), the retailer may set a cookie on its own site to record that you came from us so we can be paid a commission. That cookie is governed by the retailer's privacy policy.
- Advertising (future): we may use Google AdSense. Google and its partners use cookies to serve ads based on prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising at Google Ads Settings and learn more at How Google uses cookies in advertising. Before enabling ads for visitors in the EEA, UK or Switzerland we will show a consent banner from a Google-certified consent management platform, and non-essential cookies will only be set with your consent.
Legal bases (GDPR / UK GDPR)
- Legitimate interests: operating and securing the site, replying to emails.
- Consent: advertising and non-essential cookies, where required.
- Legal obligation: where the law requires us to keep records.
Your rights (EU/EEA and UK readers)
Under the GDPR and UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to processing of your personal data, the right to data portability, and the right to withdraw consent at any time. Email us to exercise them; we will reply within one month. You may also complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office, ico.org.uk).
US readers
We do not sell personal information in the ordinary sense. If we enable personalised advertising, you can opt out using the links above.
International transfers
Our service providers (such as Cloudflare and Google) may process data outside your country, including in the US, under safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses.
Retention
Emails are kept for as long as needed to handle your request, then deleted within 24 months. Provider logs follow the provider's retention.
Children
This site is not directed at children under 16.
Changes
We will update this page and its date when our practices change.
